実は mother country と home country の言葉 は 少し 違う. 度して ですか?

Mother country is the country where you were born or your family came from.
母国はあなたが生まれたや家族から来た国である。
So, personally I prefer to say "mother country", as my mother lived in Canada. Her owner was Chinese. You know that Chow Chow is a Chinese breed, don't you?
